Burgdorf, Switzerland – June 2025

The Alliance to Zero today announced they have expanded their membership to include Resourcify, the circular operating systems that enables sustainable growth by digitising waste management, enables data-driven optimisation and orchestrates closed loop recycling and take-back programs. By joining the Alliance, Resourcify will contribute directly to progressing the Alliance’s visions to transition the pharma industry to net zero injection devices.

The pharmaceutical industry is a key contributor to global emissions, due to long and complex product lifecycles1 and the multifaceted nature of assembly, labeling and packaging of multi-component drug delivery devices. Collectively, we face significant challenges in decarbonizing the injection devices market. As a supply chain group, the Alliance firmly believes that net zero requires circularity2 and that closed loop recycling programs are an essential part of any decarbonization solution.
Introducing Resourcify as new members of the Alliance will complement the existing capabilities within the group and so moves us closer to delivering on our ambitions.

Commenting on the expanded membership Alliance to Zero President Arne Kloke said: “This is an exciting step for the Alliance, as we are adding a new member to our group for the first time. We have verified through our research that circularity is critical to realizing net zero injection devices. Resourcify is a key enabler to closing the loop and the experience and insight they contribute to the Alliance will allow us to co-create the solutions for circular concepts that we know are essential”.

Marwin Krull, Vice President of the Alliance said of the announcement: “One of the key strengths of the Alliance is the high level of trust and openness with which we collaborate across the supply chain in pursuit of our goals, and we look forward to the creativity and expertise that the Resourcify team will bring through their membership”.

Speaking on behalf of Resourcify, Felix Heinricy CBDO & Managing Director said, “There is a natural synergy between the ambition of the Alliance to Zero and the work we do at Resourcify in waste management and circular solutions. Working within the Alliance offers a unique opportunity to collaborate right across the pharma supply chain and to offer real solutions to the complex challenge of waste management, recycling and circularity for injection devices.  We are looking forward to getting started on designing potential solutions to those challenges alongside the other member organisations, each of whom bring their own unique and expert perspective.”

The Alliance members have established workstreams focused on new concepts and business models exploring the possibilities for circularity in injectable devices. We anticipate that through the application of their extensive expertise in waste management and recycling, Resourcify will accelerate the development of these concepts into pragmatic, real-world solutions.

About Alliance to Zero

The Alliance to Zero is a consortium of eight organisations along the supply chain of injection devices. The Alliance aims to facilitate the transition of the pharma sector to compliance with net zero emissions in line with the goal of the Paris Climate Agreement. The Alliance recognizes that true progress on the shared goal of decarbonization of the supply chain will only happen through cross-industry collaboration.  Together these organizations – including Ypsomed, SCHOTT, Datwyler, Sharp, Schreiner Medipharm, Körber, Harro Höfliger and Resourcify – represent key parts of the pharma supply chain.

About Resourcify

Resourcify is building a circular future where sustainability drives business value.
Its intuitive SaaS platform helps companies digitise, automate, and optimise waste, recycling and material recovery processes. It enables the continuous optimisation of waste management in terms of costs and sustainability while reducing the hassle of regulatory compliance.

By enabling closed-loop material tracking, Resourcify helps businesses keep resources in use longer and waste to a minimum. Since 2018, it has powered over 3 million waste orders annually for leading brands like Johnson & Johnson, Hornbach, and McDonald’s while helping recyclers improve efficiency and retain top customers.
